Mohammed Al Hashmi

CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDER

Mohammed Al Hashmi is the Chairman and founder of Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

He is an experienced UAE qualified advocate with over 12 years of experience in civil and criminal litigation and is licensed to represent clients in all legal matters in front of all courts in the UAE.

He has expertise in handling complex regulatory cases and is also experienced in dealing with international corporate law cases.

Mr. Hashmi was previously a Public Notary Officer in Dubai courts, he furtherly advises on governmental and civil litigation matters and is an active member in the lawyers Union in Dubai Courts, Abu Dhabi Courts, and Ministry of Justice.

His main place of practice is Dubai, United Arab Emirates but he also has extensive experience in advising and assisting clients throughout the world region where he has advised and attended to projects in Mumbai, London, Delhi, Moscow, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

Clients know Mr. Hashmi’s for his delicate but strict approach to dispute resolution, he was able to mediate disputes amounting to over 2 billion dirhams in value, clients were pleased by his creative, accurate and well-dressed approach.

Mr. Hashimi published many articles on the UAE law in which he discussed every aspect and tackled legal matters that faces our community.

Mr. Hashimi is also a board of directors members of multiple local and international companies.

Omar Alawadhi

MANAGING PARTNER

Omar Alawadhi is the Managing Partner of Mohammed Al Hashimi Partners and Advocates.

He is an experienced and qualified UAE advocate who was appointed in 2022 as the Managing Partner in Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

He worked for four years as an investigator in the Dubai Public Prosecution who dealt with sensitive criminal cases and then joined the UAE Customs where he attended all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) meetings which tackled customs legislation and penal sentences to customs officers and individuals who break this law.

In 2015, Mr. Alawadhi became a licensed lawyer where he worked at “Al Tamimi & Company” as a Senior Associate Lawyer specialized in financial Crime, money laundry, cybercrimes, and corruption cases, he worked in other departments as well as handling private client cases for Al Tamimi back then.

During his time there, he dealt with internal investigations and cases before the Public Prosecution, Police, and Customs in coordination with local and international law enforcement authorities, including INTERPOL.

Mr. Alawadhi also dealt with civil, personal, litigious, and criminal cases. He was an advisor to an international corporation regarding a criminal case relating to embezzlement of public funds and worked on a massive case on fraud. Mr. Alawadhi has acted on behalf of many clients from the private and public sectors and led an investigation on behalf of a major international entity with the Customs to claim goods.

Mr. Elias Bou Khalil

PARTNER

Mr. Elias Bou Khalil is a Partner at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

With more than 14 years of experience in the UAE, he started his career with an American law firm in Paris where he practiced for several years. He had the opportunity to work on contentious and non-contentious matters such as cross border matters and legal actions between Paris, the United Kingdom and New York.

Mr. Bou Khalil also assists multinationals on several corporate governance matters varying from establishing manuals, internal policies and processes, whistleblowing procedures, codes of ethics, authority matrices and other relevant documents in the governance field. On the financial / business side, he also assists national and international borrowers, finance companies, trustees etc. in resolving banking law issues, and is usually consulted for matters like merger and acquisitions, corporate debt, syndicated loans, project financing or settlement, asset-based financing, etc…to name few examples. Amongst his clients, Elias helps multinational pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, financial institutions, medical products companies, and private clients

Latest Achievements:
Mr. Bou Khalil’s most interesting cross border transactions and corporate matters entailed legal action/s (both at the judiciary and arbitration levels) filed in New York with ramifications in France and the middle east, with corporate matters relating to Chinese multinationals in Africa, restructuring of distribution networks in Europe and Africa, distribution disputes between middle eastern distributors and American / European suppliers (German, Dutch, French, English etc…), and disputes involving multinational financial institutions. Elias has acted as an arbitrator and counsel in arbitration cases in the UAE in relation to real estate disputes.

Rohit Gulati

PARTNER

Rohit Gulati is a Senior Partner at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Mr. Gulati relocated to Dubai from India in 2016, as a Partner for an Indian law firm with its branch in the UAE. Since then, he has been associated with some prominent UAE based law firms.

Mr. Gulati brings in a wealth of industry expertise to MH Advocates and has a demonstrated history of working with law firms locally and internationally. He has consulted clients for years on legal matters, corporate laws, due diligence, and strategic planning, with a high impetus on Business Law, and is equipped to guide expatriates in the UAE with drafting and registering a Will in English as per the English Common Laws for non-Muslims.

Mr. Gulati is well known for his prompt and exact actions taken when needed and excels in reaching amicable solutions between different parties due to his well-tailored solutions. He is one of the few lawyers who is qualified and competent to handle UAE/India cross border disputes.

Hisham Shafei

SENIOR ASSOCIATE – HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Hisham Shafei is the senior legal counsel at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Having 26 years of experience, Mr. Shafei joined the firm in 2018, he regularly provides guidance and leadership to other legal consultants within our firm and oversees all of our firm legal matters. Mr. Shafei has practiced and accumulated substantive knowledge and experience in various areas of law such as insurance, aviation, maritime law, construction including FIDIC related matters, commercial and labor matters, criminal law, public law related cases and complaints, arbitration matters and other areas of the law. In addition to that, Mr. Shafei regularly appears on behalf of clients before court’s appointed experts and collaborate on a regular basis with third party consultants when legal matters involve technical points that need to be addressed by experts or technical consultants (engineers, financial consultants, auditors etc…).

Mr. Shafei is also responsible of the allocation of files amongst our team members to achieve the optimal results to our clients according to the specialty and expertise of each of our legal consultants.

Mr. Shafei has been recognized by peers as having a highly critical thinking with an ability to quickly respond to changes in the law, to analyze and solve problems efficiently and determine the best course of action in the most effective manner. Wael Refaat

Wael Refaat is a Legal Consultant at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

With more than 11 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Refaat joined the firm in 2015.

Mr. Refaat is the head of the criminal department, he specializes in drafting memorandum and legal notices, detecting problems in cases and attempt solving them amicably. He coordinates with lawyers regarding sensitive cases, excels in penal and cassation cases and provide adequate legal consultation.

Mr. Refaat has been working as an attorney for 24 years and became an expert in providing the essential legal consultations in which he is known for promptly solving the legal matter.

Mohamad Aboul Foutouh Nil

Mohamad Aboul Foutouh Nil is a Legal Consultant at Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

With over than 16 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, he joined the firm in October 2021.

Mr. Nil has over 27 years of experience overall as an attorney, where he started his career in Egypt and worked for 11 years on a variety of criminal and commercial cases.

Furthermore, Mr. Nil moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2007 where he worked on various cases and specialized in criminal law, personal law status, commercial and civil and real estate. he also has a decent insight on contracting cases.

Reem Abdalla

Mrs. Abdalla has more than 9 years of legal experience in United Arab Emirates, she joined the firm in Jan 2017.

She specializes in numerous law fields such as intellectual property, trademarks, personal status, contracts, labour, family corporate law, and others.

To elaborate Mrs. Abdalla draft memoranda, contracts, and other legal correspondences, she leads negotiation, evaluate findings, and develop argument strategies for cases after identifying a potential contentious path.

Ahmed Ashour

ASSOCIATE

Ahmed Ashour is a Legal Associate at Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants since September 2015. He specializes in handling all execution cases, all Dubai Rental Dispute centre cases, and follows up daily matters with Dubai courts clerks and Public Prosecution staff.

In addition to his valuable expertise at Al Hashimi, Mr. Ashour is well knowledgeable in all the cases legal procedures and in working on all local and federal courts systems across different Emirates of the country.

Moreover, Mr. Ashour held many meetings and attended more than 400 expert examination procedures, he also manages to pursue complicated matters faced at the police station, public prosecution and criminal court clerks.

Ralph Akiel

Ralph Akiel is a Legal Researcher at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Having 3 years’ experience as a Lebanese lawyer and a year experience in the United Arab Emirates he joined the firm in August 2022.

Mr. Akiel specializes in cases studies such as lawsuits, arbitration, mediation. As well as drafting contracts, undertakings and memoranda.

He follows up every case on Dubai and all of the UAE courts and public prosecution systems, and submit all kind of requests, and can handle any case from inception to the conclusion of the execution file.

Esraa Hashimi is a legal researcher at Mohamed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

With 9 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, she joined the firm in July 2021. She currently works on following up cases and is also responsible of handling cases management.

Miss Hashimi gained expertise through working in the Litigation Department where she optimally managed clients’ files and link between clients, consultants and office management, by providing the documents needed to achieve the best result in the lawsuit.

Furthermore, Miss Hashim submits requests to judge on all federal and local court and public prosecution portals, She also drafts memorandum, legal notices and special tailored contract based on the client’s requests, she is also, responsible for all the firm’s legal services agreement.

Mohammed Deghidy

Mohammed Deghidy is a Legal Researcher at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

With a dedicated focus on organizational efficiency and legal proceedings, Mr. Deghidy plays a pivotal role in our firm. As the individual responsible for submitting all court requests, he ensures a seamless process by meticulously handling the logistics and documentation required for legal procedures. Deghidy takes charge of organizing court and police hearings, leaving no room for oversight, and ensures that both lawyers and clients, if need be, attend these critical events.

Beyond his courtroom responsibilities, Deghidy assumes a key role in the firm’s overall management. Mahmoud Ali

ASSISTANT LAWYER

Mahmoud Ali is an Assistant Lawyer at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Having more than 13 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, he joined the law firm in 2016.

Mr. Ali is a senior Private Notary Assistant, he handles all private notary inquiries such as, Employment Offers, transfer and amendment of company shares, sale of marine vessels and boats contract minutes of meetings, etc.

Mr. Ali follows up the case detail day by day and ensure its expedite mobility, he will arrange the release of any client who is held in prison, despite the reason of captivity

Mr. Ali, is well known for his fast and decent service provided to our clients, he ensures the issuance of a Power of Attorney electronically in a speedy manner notwithstanding the whereabouts of our clients, he set up all types of companies, submit complaints and visits to follow up matters in all of Dubai and UAE’s police stations, he furtherly follows up cases in all public entities such as the Dubai Municipality, Dubai Economic Department, Police Stations, Notary Public, Public Prosecutions, etc.

Mr. Zadat has more than 5 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, he joined the firm in 2018, he is responsible on following up cases registered in the federal courts, Ras Al Khaimah courts and federal prosecutions.

Mohamad Ezzat is a Legal assistant at Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

During his 10 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Ezzat joined in April 2020, he follows up on all the office’s cases by way of documenting and submitting all sorts of lawsuits, following up on the hearings and court decisions and ensure all the administrative work is properly done since inception of the case, allowing our legal staff to focus on the matter hassle-free.

Bringing over a decade of experience in administrative roles across the United Arab Emirates to her position. Ms. Ledesma’s joined the firm in November 2022, adding value to the team with her extensive experience and proficiency in her field.

She has honed her skills in various areas such as managing telephonic inquiries and customer interactions, coordinating physical visitor arrangements, monitoring and forwarding company emails, overseeing conference room bookings and reminders, and maintaining an up-to-date client database, as well as performing administrative tasks such as document copying and scanning.

Reem Al Hamadi

Reem Al Hamadi is an attorney at Mohamed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Having years of experience Mrs. Al Hamadi joined the firm in January 2022. She handles civil, labor, commercial, criminal and family status cases in which she attends its hearing and follow up with court and public prosecution clerks.

She assists clients in different areas of the law. Her extensive experience includes counselling on a wide spectrum of commercial law matters, ranging from the development of legally compliant company policies to commercial contracts.

Sonia Djelid

Sonia Djelid is a senior officer in the case management department at Mohammed Al Hashimi Advocates and Legal Consultants.

Mrs. Djelid has more than 10 years of working experience in the United Arab Emirates, she joined the law firm on 2017 and handles all the office cases since inception, her main duties are preparing and recording clients files and distributing them administratively after coordinating with the head legal consultant.

In addition to the above Mrs. Djelid handles all legal translations and legalization tasks of the office, Mrs. Djelid work is being accomplished electronically in compliance with our office friendly environmental policy.
